5 x 5 bolt pattern

  • To all the JK owners how does everyone feel about the 5 x 5 bolt pattern. I cant find any rims for under 200 dollars do to the 5 x 5

  • Depends on the style of wheel. Natually, alloy wheels will be more expensive. Steel wheels are more expensive than their 5x4.5 versions, due primarily to the limited production runs since only the newer Jeeps have them (99+ Grand Cherokee, Commander and JK). Plus, you're looking at larger diameter wheels (16 or 17" vs 15" for 5x4.5") which pushes the cost higher as well. You can use 5x4.5" wheels, but you'll have to get a set of adapters to do that. $200 to get 4. http://www.quadratec.com/products/92807_006.htm

I'm not big on the idea of spacing an already wide axle although it wouldn't matter much if you compensated it with the new wheels backspacing. I thought about spacing my wheels because I don't like the look of the small 32's under those huge JK fenders/flares but with stock wheels, 2.5" more was just too much.

I wish they used 5 on 5.5" for all Jeeps. There really aren't any strong front hub options until this size and the wheel options are endless.
