Radiator Barn has a pretty good reputation from everything I've heard.

ok thanks ill just go with the 2 row all aluminum

ok thanks ill just go with the 2 row all aluminumThat'll be 200% better than the stock metal/plastic version.

now, do i go with the raditor barn, or the champion? or does it not make a difference

Even with the stock radiator, unless you have other issues TJ's rarely overheat.
I wouldn't spend a bunch extra on something that really isn't going to gain you anything.

yea, i was just wondering why the champion 2 row is cheaper than the radiator barn 2 row if its "better"
-
Looks like radiator barn has a lifetime warranty but not sure what that covers.

I'm running a champion alum rad, good quality, no complaints, had it for three years I think... If your hiring for cash I have a good 2 core standard replacement from q tech, no plastic and worked great when I replaced it with the champion,

Here's what I'm selling no plastic caps to break,

I've got a radiatorbarn unit in Jen's thats been doing a fine job for a few years. Mines got a champion aluminum unit in it and has done the job well. My only complaint is that on the champion one they cheaped out on the captive nuts for the shroud and they tacked on sacrificial Al 'donuts' that are meant to self tap when the shroud is mounted. Issue is the tacks aren't strong enough and break. I popped them off and used cage nuts in their place.

I replaced one in my TJ with one from Radiator Barn. It has a metal top and bottom cap as opposed to the plastic on the stock one. Plus radiator barn did free shipping and it was at my door in 1 day.

I have a radiator barn 3 row in my XJ and it works great even with the full size A/C condenser unit in front of the radiator. I guess the 180* tstat and Flowkooler water pump may have something to do with that, though. At any rate, an all metal design is better than one that has plastic. For a smaller radiator size a 2 row may actually cool better though.

would you also put a lower temp thermostat in?
-
Not really much point around here with a stock engine/trans. I was fighting an overheating issue so I was trying everything I could. Turned out to be a bad (new!) water pump.
I think it does change the operating temp since it opens 15* sooner than normal. My engine has only hit 210* once since I fixed everything and that was towing a TJ at highway speeds with a torque converter that wouldn't lock up (bad TPS). It's normally in the 190s now, while with a factory radiator, water pump and tstat it was always around 206-210. Of course, this is with an XJ with a different cooling system, so... YMMV

would you also put a lower temp thermostat in?Nothing to be gained by it.
The engines are designed to operate as a certain temperature.
Changing that can lead to emission and MPG issues.
Like I said above, unless you have other issues TJ's do not overheat.

Here's some thoughts on the lower temp. thermostat: http://jeep-forums.4wd.com/sho…hermostat-Temp-More-Power
