thanks Andy, i'm trying to decide if i want to under take all of this at one time. this just started as an axle swap, i like the idea of the sye but new driveshaft and adjustable control arms and who knows what else seems to be adding up fast.
swapping dana 35 to a dana 44

Thanks to Deadfeat posting up a craigslist add in the swap sale forum i finally have scored a dana 44 rear axle from a 1997 tj, suppose to pick it up this weekend. i know that i will need to regear the front from 3:73 to 4:10 to match the new rear, but what do i need to purchase to adapt my existing drive shaft from the d35 to the 44. outside of the drive shaft is there anything else that i should need to complete the swap? any input you may have would be great.A finders fee is customary.

Thanks Andy I'll add that to my shopping list, that's a hell of a lot cheaper than the other kits i have seen !

I built those for andy the last time he was on the lift. We can do all the work at the same time if you get the parts. Can easily be donein a day. Just ask santa for ruffstuff or amazon gift cards. Also arent you getting a tax return :).

as for the rough stuff tubing i'll assume i need a quantity of two 12" pieces ?
-
Not sure of the exact length you will need per side but I know 24" will be more then enough to cover both. I believe it was like 8-10" per side. Ill measure mine in a bit.

sorry for all the questions, this is a first for me, i've messed around with lift kits and alot of bolt on stuff and never swapped out components with anything but direct replacements.
-
I measured ruffly 8" off tubing. I also recommend up grading to the hex style tubing bungs like on mine.
No problem
