Looking for 24" diameter pipe

  • 55 gallon drum would be too thin and wouldn't retain the heat well. As for a keg, it might be iffy because it's aluminum and I'm not sure how thick it is. But it's worth looking onto.


    I'm debating whether to add a slightly larger or smaller diameter around or inside the fire box to semi-insulate it.


    Here's what I'm looking at for a concept.

  • I don't think it has to be round and a square flat box would work just fine. From what I read and the guy I'm basing all mone off of claims the round works better for the simple fact that the curve on the bottom allows the coals to form a better pile and you can bridge logs across a little better.

    I was thinking cutting the center out of a few steel rims and welding them together might work but that might be too small.
