Right now I've got Mickey Thompson rims and Bridgestone ATs 315/70R17. I don't really like the look of the rims and wanted different tires also. The current tires also look a bit stuffed under the lift and I'd like a little bit more space between the tires and fenders

My TJ had 33x10.5 BFG MTs on stock rims. I really liked the look because the tires didn't stick out as much. I'm wondering if I can do something similar with 34x10.5's BFG ATs. Will they fit on stock JK rims? Anyone have a setup with 34x10.5 and have any good or bad experiences with that setup? The JK is lifted to clear the tires but wondering about steering on stock rims with the backspacing.

Also open to any metric size suggestions that is close to 34s but narrow.

    Thanks!

    Hello all,

I was a member years ago and it's been so many cars in between I forget even how long. (I remember wahtevah's yellow XJ.)

I was young and stupid with a 99 TJ then. I only made a few trail rides but in that short time created a lot of damage (or drama depending on your view) . If anyone remembers I'm the idiot who couldn't even fix a radiator hose on the Pine Barrens trail. The group was super nice and got me back home though!.

I've got myself a 2016 Rubicon now that is a major work in progress. I'm older, slightly wiser and less willing to break things without first knowing what I'm doing. I look forward to becoming a member again and seeing everyone on some rides. I'm also sure I'll raise the bar quite high in the "stupid question" category. I'm in PA but in the past I found the clubs that were closer in proximity to me to be a little less welcoming.

Thanks to everyone who's helped along the way.

    :help:

I finally was able to purchase a jeep. I spent months looking for a TJ to replace the TJ I sold with many regrets. Guess what, TJs are hard to find, so I ended up with a '16 JK Rubicon.

The previous owner had done some "modifications". My first confusion is the tires. They are 315/70 r17 (Dueler ATs). When doing the math those should be 34"+ tires. I don't quite understand how those fit under a stock JK. There's definitely no flex room but I thought 34's would rub even under normal daily driving. Everything I can tell is that the springs are stock. The shocks are replaced with Fox shocks.

The other mod is a Fox (or two of them) steering stabilizer. This moves the stock steering stabilzers (I think). Here I'm wondering if this is a good setup or not. I honestly don't want want to Fox logo all over my jeep so I'll probably replace them anyway. Wondering what the recommended setup here is for aftermarket steering?

Any thoughts of the Fox stuff on it? I've not had a off-road modded vehicle in quite a few years. The fox stuff just looks flashy but I know little about the quality.

I don't mind putting money into but I've learned the hard lesson from a TJ that putting money in the wrong place cab lead to bigger problems. Any JK suggestions are welcome.

Glad to be back with a Jeep and I'll be annoying everyone on trail rides soon.

I was a member years ago but sold my jeep (Had a 99 TJ). It's now time for another jeep. I'm looking for something kind of specific so I understand it might be like hunting a unicorn.

I'm looking for a stock TJ or something that can be return easily to stock height. The only other hope to find is running, but I'd look at not running. I'm looking to make a more daily driver friendly, camping and beach jeep than a offroad build. I plan on a fair amount of customization so condition isn't important. I'm hoping to find the rusted and busted TJ and put the work into it than get something clean. Budget is flexible but I'm looking to save money upfront to have more for the parts I want later.

If anyone has something, or knows of anyone looking to unload a TJ let me know. I'm in no rush and figure this is going to be a process. Willing to go anywhere in the DE/NJ/SE PA area and willing to tow it.

Thanks for any help and hope to see everyone soon!
