    Thanks for the info...
On Quadratec, there are 3 gears... different tooth count. I did notice it says not for Rubicons, so the above info must be correct ;) Doesn't sound too hard... will try this one myself...

There is a conversion chart for which one to use here:

???Question... seem to be getting competing oppinions...

I have 33's on my TJ now and I'm about 5mph off... The dealer said it is fixed via computer adjustment, but I see speedo gears on sale for an 06 also...

The guy at the dealership sounded like a tool, so I'm not sure the real deal... Anyone have an 2006 and had the speedo fixed?

Well the body lift didnt come with any clips or plates... just the spacers and bolts...
I'll crawl under there this weekend and take a look... I'll try not to poke my eye out..

I heard (and maybe folks can confirm) that on the 06 TJ it is all computer and sensor driven for the
speedometer. So you adjust for larger tires via the computer. Thats what the dealer said anyway...
He said bring it in and we can update the settings in 5 mins...

So... 2 different possibilities... adjust linkage, expand the shifter hole....
I'm thinking the linkage as 4 high is right in the middle and it has no problem moving to that position... Even 4 lo seemed
possible... I'll have the dealer check it out this week I guess... I need to have them adjust the computer for my tire size anyway...

    Thanks for the input...

I wasn't wheeling at all really... just checking out where the gravel road went... I ended up at Chesapeake City at a gate that was closed and had to schlep 8 miles back to an entrance... I really was just testing the 4WD to make sure it worked before I went to the beach in a couple weeks... I'm mechanically challenged, so will probably take somewhere unless one of you guys wants to work for a case of beer...

Note: I refuse to be seen buying Milwaukee's Best, Piel's, or Busch.... So pick something respectable.

Also, if wheeling at the C&D is "not copasetic", how did all the ruts get in the big hills I saw... methinks that not everyone is playing by the rules...

This is my first jeep and I plan on keeping it until it rusts apart around me... I'm only 15k in now, but I expect to drop a new engine in eventually... I'm not the most mechanically talented however... Just out of curiosity, can't you buy a brand new crate engine and have it dropped in? Does anyone know of a place in DE that does that? Any ideas on how much dropping a crate V8 in would be? Sounds like you need need the engine and transmission... I'm thinking all in like 5-8k.. But I honestly have no clue... Thought maybe a gear head out there might know...

:cuss: Not sure why, but I have a heck of a time getting it to go in, and stay in 4WD. I put a 1" body lift on, and I'm not sure if that jacked anything up... It goes on when I pull up and wiggle, but sometimes goes out.. I was on the C&D canal yesterday and it took many attempts to get it to stick... 4WD Low is also tough... Any ideas? :bang:

I'm going to Lewes in a couple weeks and will also be taking my 06 TJ for my first spin in the sand...
I usually surf fish at 3 R's past Dewey, but this year I'll be in Lewes so it looks like Cape Henlopen...
What is the best access road? I'll be staying close to 5 points....
