Can you get some plate material behind the sheet metal and secure it in multiple spots?

Not hunting this year until it cools down a bit. I plan to do more camping/surf fishing this fall than in years past with my time on Saturdays too. Besides this new JEEP hobby will keep me busy in the free time I have after work if I'm not working OT for the new hobby lol.

Jeremy I forgot to thank you for bringing 50lbs of tools and letting me borrow a few, so thank you. A bag with a shoulder strap is a must have. Mine saved me a lot of energy.
I agree some of their prices are steep but I just haggled with the big guy in a polite manner and he knocked 20 bucks off my total.
The free bottle of water was worth it's weight in gold after carrying all of our treasure the full length of that yard. A cart is definitely worth taking along.
Did you happen to ask for a price on that 8.8 rear.? I would like to grab one soon too to start prepping it for the swap.

Looking to go somewhere soon. Maybe CHSP to start our fall camping. Definitely want to do more this year and try some new places.

Looks sweet in the video. Test drive anyone?

I'm not familiar with this issue but it looks like the cable is broke/not attached.

Over 30 views and not one opinion ???

Talked to some people at the beach and decided to avoid the crowds. The fall is the start to a new less crowded season.

Im sure if u had a feeler guage u would find that the ball joint is touching at some point. Its usually debris, the surface of the knuckle or just the machining of the ball joint that makes it look like its floating. It should be fine.
Thanks for the reply. It seems to be a common issue from what I have read. Before I read your post I attempted to find/correct the issue and ended up destroying the new lower ball joint. Had to run to the parts store and get a new one. 3 Spicer joints and one Duralast. The Duralast actually looked and felt better than the Spicer. ??? Anyway lesson learned. Getting pretty efficient with harbor freight press too. Lol. And yes the gap was still there with the Duralast joint. -
Curious fella. Thought he was gonna climb in jeep with us.

I'll be camping in Colorado next weekend... anybody up for a short trip?
Now that's a camping trip I would love to be on. -
Next up for the XJ is upgrading the steering. I have researched various 1 Ton conversions, OTK and UTK. I am just looking for advice and or opinions on this subject. As an FYI I am planning to lift the XJ in the near future but have not decided on the height/tire size just yet. I am considering 3.5" w/31" or 4.5" w/33". Both short arm kits probably from RE. I am leaning towards keeping it UTK. Any input to help with the decision would be greatly appreciated.

Sweet upgrade. Those lights make a huge difference.

Installed four new ball joints, two hub bearings and two front axle u - joints. All parts were in dire need of replacement. Jeep front end feels much better now cruising down the road. Only major issue I have is the upper spindle mount on either side didn't seat fully. I noticed about a 1/16 gap on the passenger side and a little more than an 1/8" on the drivers side. Should I be concerned about this? The bottom mounting point fully seated.

Saw a few of those today at the JY. I'll be hitting another one this weekend if you don't want to pay $60. But that's a good deal for a new one shipped.
