Hello. I recently posted back when I first joined the forum and now I officially joined the club. Bought my first Jeep last August to learn about Jeeps and have a little (ton) of fun. Looking forward to getting to the beach this summer and do a bunch of surf fishing.
Look forward to meeting all of you.
Good morning...Looking to buy a used surf rod or two (rod and reel) to accommodate by 7' rod. The surf-fishing101 thread has me looking early. Let me know if you have anything. Thanks.
Cool! Now you can start the engine without the clutch depressed
Exactly (a ten second solution after already replacing the CKP..oh well )
Clutch adjustment thing or switch sensor thing more likely. How does the clutch interlock switch (neutral safety switch or whatever it's called) work on a TJ?
Well ended up going with the clutch safety switch bypass...for a 97 it was simply unplug and then plug into an empty female port under the dash. Right away it fired up fine with no check engine.
11 is your cranck position sensor on the bell housing. U either installed it wrong, connector is not tight or it just went bad. Ignore the other codes.
Thanks. So I went ahead and replaced it and still having the issue. It seems that when I have the clutch depressed fully it doesnt start, then when I release the clutch a veryyyy small amount it tends to start up. Any ideas? Timing thing?
I do happen to have some. I am laid up right now with a broken leg and ankle but if you are down in Dover you are welcome to them.
Thanks, but I got some off Ebay. Feel better.
Recently replaced the slave cylinder, master cylinder and serpentine belt. It's been about 2 weeks and have an issue starting. Nothing would turn over with the clutch fully depressed. When I would release the clutch a little, it would sputter and eventually turn over and start. Check engine came on....codes 11, 12, 31.
11:No crank reference signal detected during engine cranking. Intermittent loss of either camshaft or crankshaft position sensor. CKP sensor target windows have too much variation.
31: An open or shorted condition detected in the A/C clutch relay circuit. Insufficient or excessive vapor flow detected during evaporative emission system operation.
Hope this isn't anything major. Any help regarding the issue/fix/what to do would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Anyone have 4 spare tire bump stops laying around? (Hardware not needed) Thanks.
Still available!
Might be interested. I will check them out online to get a pic (after work of course)
Selling a brand new Pro Comp Series 51 Gloss Black 15x10 on 5x4.5

Anyone know the size bolts to mount the spare tire carrier?
Looking to buy a 35x12.50-15 as a spare. Anything will do.
I am looking for some assistance from anyone with experience replacing the master and/or slave cylinder to either take a look or help with replacing. I live in Old New Castle. Anything would help. Thanks.
Clutch hydroics are failing or something internally with the clutch is going bad. Either way if its getting hard to shift i would not ignore the problem or it will leave u stranded.
Thanks Aaron. Being a novice and not having the means to do this type of work, do you have any suggestions/references of someone who could possibly put in a new clutch kit and/or take a look at it? Feel free to PM me.

Thanks.
I own a 97 TJ 4.0.
A few days ago I went to start it in neutral. Engine started fine except I could not shift into any gear with the engine running and when I went to reverse I could hear it grinding. I could, however, shift it into every gear with the engine off. I ended up starting it in first gear, it jolted a little and then shifted fine.
While driving, it seems to shift through gears OK.
Today, I also noticed that when I turn the engine off, I could shift into any gear without depressing the clutch.
Any ideas as to what problem I am looking at here? I have had it for a little over 2 months and this was not something I wanted to run into right off the bat, but oh well. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Looking to buy a spare 35. If anyone has one or knows anyone, please let me know.
Thanks.
