Hi-Lift issues

  • I was testing out the hi-lift today while getting crap together for GWNF. The jack seems to jack up just fine, but it will not reverse and come back down. I know how go use it, but unsure how to fix it. I do have the tune up kit. Just wondering if someone more familiar might know what is causing it.

  • Does the lever flip down at all or is it stuck? You might try spraying it with a good penetrant oil and whacking it with a rubber mallet.

  • The lever moved up and down ok, and locked into place up and down. I found the manual and got the fix-it kit and took a closer look at it all. The top cross pin was bent, keeping the bar from moving in and out correctly. I replaced both bar and cross pins, and lubricated the whole jack, and it seems to work fine now. A bonus was finally taking a good look at the jack and having to work on it. I'm much more comfortable with it now knowing a bit more about how it works. It's not so intimidating to me know. I know how dangerous they are, so I'm glad I took a look at it now before I needed it someplace.
