!!! SWAP MEET RULES - PLEASE READ !!!

  • Actually, just a clarification.
    ----------------------------------------------

    We've discussed this among the BOD and the Moderators and have come to the following decision:

    We like things the way they are. And the way they are is this:

    1. Members and Guests are equal in all ways with regard to the Swap Meet Forum.

    2. There are no prerequisites for using the Swap Meet Forum. (Other than to be fair and honest.)

    3. Non Jeep items are permitted and in fact welcome.

    4. Links to Ebay auctions and ads elsewhere online (ie. Craigslist) are permitted.

    Please keep in mind that whether you are dealing with a DeJA Member, Guest, Jeep owner or whoever, there are no guarantees (implied, perceived or otherwise) with regards to items bought and sold here. As they say... Let the buyer (and seller) beware.

    As far as helping other Jeepers out and all that, that's fine and dandy. But in the end, money is money and this tends to be a pretty tight crowd when it comes to wanting to part with it so I can not really blame anyone for wanting to get what is fair.

  • The following are some ideas that will help your post be more productive to your sales/buying needs. They are by no means required, however, if followed, will give your Swap Meet post a better chance of succeeding as well as help keep the forum clearer for everyone.

    Subject:
    Rather than using: "Stuff" or "Tires" as a subject line.
    Be specific and descriptive with your objective in mind.
    For Example:
    FS: 5 - 31X10.5R15 GoodYear MTR's

    Putting labels in your subject is always helpful:
    FS=For Sale
    Need=need
    WTB=Want to Buy
    WTT=Want to Trade

    Clarity
    Be clear and honest with what you are selling including age (ex:1997), quality (ex:frame is rusted), wear(ex:treadwear 5/32), etc., etc.

    Word specs/mods clearly also. When selling a Jeep, rather than listing all of the modifications in one long run on sentence, post them individually so that your target can see each one properly.

    Price
    Including a price is always helpful. Include OBO (or best offer) if it's negotiable.

    Location
    If it's not already shown in your profile, adding your location is helpful in many cases.

    Pictures
    Many items (vehicles especially), benefit from having pictures in the sale post.
    This can be done by hosting them on a website such as Photobucket and posting the link to the picture inside the [img] code (or just copy photobucket's code onto your post).
    Instructions on posting pictures can be found: Here

    Update the post when finalized
    When you sell/find your item, try to remember to modify the initial post so everyone is aware of it
    Example: FS: 5 - 31X10.5R15 GoodYear MTR's (SOLD)

    Thanks and good luck!!!
