  • new axle u-joints, new ball joints, new exhaust...
    changed diff fluids...
reinforced my perpetually damaged oilpan skid by welding angle stock in strategic areas...

  • Replaced both upper control arms because I bent them driving through a ditch at a friends house. Stupid ledge at the end of the ditch. :bang:

  • Began Project: OPERATION CJ7 Hard Top on Scrambler.

Try to post pics later, but in a nut shell:
    - I cut off the rear portion of a CJ7 hard top at the seem just past the windows.
    - Mounted the front half normally. and the lift gate frame portion on the far back.
    - Spanned the 24" gap with small brackets and 3/8" all thread rods.

    Still to do-
    - Add struts to support the roof section. (a little flimsy)
    - Fab some soft top material or Vinyl. Plan to attach the material to the front half using a metal strip to clamp the material to the fiberglass, then attache to the rear portion using snaps. I think it will work well. The all thread will allow me to adjust the tention. I plan to add small bows to keep the soft top material from sagging.
    - Paint the Top
    - Fab up or Buy a lift gate.

  • Put on some black diamond plate rocker guards that I got on ebay for $30. Passenger side came in bent, but for 30 bucks I guess i can live with it. This is the bent side, not too bad. Thougt they were bigger when ordering, but I'm satisfied.

I'm still looking for someone who'd be interested in painting the beast for me sometime over the winter. No body work required -- just simple paint.

When engaged in conversation with a fool, be sure he is not similarly engaged.
