Those wheels look pretty shiny! Are we going to be able to track your course at Rausch by following the little flecks of chrome on the rocks???
What have you done to your Jeep today?

They're aluminum--I couldn't find any chrome steel wheels anywhere! You'll be able to see these from space until I get some mud on them.

We will fix that issue on Sat.!!!!!

Transmission is out AGAIN! Second gear started grinding on the way home from the January ride, so I'm replacing the synchro, and the 2-3 synchro while I'm at it.
I'll have it running again for next Saturday's ride, come hell or high water. -
Damn Jay seems like you cant catch a break.
-
36-year-old transmission I got for $50 on eBay -- I'd say I got my money's worth!
-
What tranny is it slowpoke(the one in your jeep is not an acceptable answer)?

Took the end caps off the JL metal bumper to make it a stubby.

I finally put a stop to the puddles of coolant that kept mysteriously appearing under the Jeep with a new water pump.....now back to the electrical issues....

After not driving my Jeep for a year I finally got around to patching the frame on my Jeep. I basically have 2 weeks left to get it done. I paid to have my boat stored in a warehouse so I could work on the Jeep without fear of damaging my boat. I have to pick up the boat at the end of this month so it crunch time.
In typical fashion this frame repair has turned into more as the Jeep also getting new suspension bushings and bolts in the back and replacement of the 4 rear body mounts. The Jeep had all greasable bolts in the rear and the bushings were oozing grease. However the guy I bought the Jeep from must have only greased them right before I bought it as half the diameter of the bolts I pulled out of the suspension had rusted away. When I’m done it will still be a POS.

I cussed at my Jeep today trying to get the body mounts off. I’ll need to cut them out and replace all the nuts in the body.
All those YouTube videos and tv shows make working on a Jeep look like fun. I wish I had their camera angle

Replaced the 43 year old rear drive shaft u-joints after the catastrophic failure. While I was there I decided to change the t-clase fluid as well. Then of course the obligatory "test run"
