What have you done to your Jeep today?

  • I guess that I should start this off...

Today I dismounted 10 tires from their rims and put my 305's on my rubi rims, I like the black look of the steel wheels, but the ride and style of the stock rims is what I decided to go with. now I have 5 wheels and tires sitting in the garage, along with a set of stocker wheels and tires.

Friday, I fixed my front axle leak... tore everything apart and cleaned it out very well, only to find that my inner axle seal is a-okay, I guess that the way I had it sitting before and maybe over full, some gear oil leaked into the axle housing and the first couple trips caused it to leak out.

I installed some Alloy USA otter dirt seals and put everything together, I am happy with it and the security it gives me if I have to go thru some deep water or mud.

Last week was Ball joints, track bar and steering linkage, along with a shade-tree alignment.

  • My whole past week was spent doing an NV3550 swap, SYE, rear adjustable uppers, driveshaft, and shock relocators. :spinrhead:

You do own a hairdryer don't you she asked? Of course I do, he replied, it's in the driveway, it's called a Jeep.

Current - 97 TJ, 99 WJ, 12 Scion tC
Past - 94 ZJ, 02 TJ, 06 Rubicon, 06 XK, 07 Scion tC

  • control arm bushings, tie rod ends, rear sway bar links.

  • Removed my light bar & gutted it. Even though its chrome I decided to paint it (chrome is rusting). Before painting I figured I'd redo the light mounts (custom) to hide the wires more. I'll try to rewire it tonight. Instead of making my own harness I bought a kit from Quad.

going to work on the CB setup for the FJ today. going to run the wires, and wait for the antenna mount to show up (hopefully next week)

might extend the diff breather while im at it...damn toyota and their half/assed engineering

  • FJ, ahhhhhhhhhh fake jeep, what year?

2008 all i have to say is it is still 4wd,(did pretty good at rausch creek with 2000 miles) , still has a 4.0 , has a 2 letter name ending in a J, and has round headlights. meets my requirements :)

  • haha, cool, i like the outside but not the insides....

did you ditch the scion also?

yup..now that im only working 50 hours a week, and only 17 miles from home, i wanted something i could enjoy, and be able to throw more in the back than a 6 pack and a grocery bag.

in a couple years when we finally build our house in landenberg, ill get another jeep (most likley TJ) and build it for wheeling/summer driving and get something more sport/luxury for a DD

  • nothing much. looked at taking off the end parts for the front bumper and the sidesteps but i got too aggravated.
