I am running the stock 255/75/17 GY tires on my JK Unlimited. What pressure do you normally run when going out on the beach? In the Chevy I would run 18psi does this pressure pose any risk to the larger tires? Thanks.

Thanks. I guess I'll just take a ride down with the family and see what we can do. I appreciate the info.

Darn. Caught this thread to late. We're heading down today too.
My beach guru said that Henlopen is also closed as of a couple days ago so I think we are SOL.As for the air....I've only ever had one problem when I wasn't aired down so I tend to be lazy and stay aired up most of the time. You should be fine.

Navy was closed but the point is open. We're out on the surf right now. It's nice out.

he will sink. trust me. if you are ballsy and have someone with you to give you a tug out. you can get away with 25-27 but it takes a good technice....
FWIW i run 27psi in my 31x10.50 grand ~4300lbs.... but i would say go 18 to 20. get a feel for the sand then slowly work your way up till you feel it starting to bog and sink. then drop a couple lbs

Many others out there?

No. Empty. Just the way I like it. The sand is warm though. I'm barefoot and not cold. So ready for summer though.

he will sink. trust me.In the winter , with less traffic the sand is tighter and harder .

X2.
Plus, can't compare a Jeep to what the average touron is driving during the summer months.

Henlopen and 3Rs were closed. We just parked at 3Rs and walked out with the two youngest kids. Should have followed Knoxrents!
Based on the tight sand we would not have to air down much at all. It was like concrete out there. -
