DEJA November Meeting - Nov 11th - Frazier's in Dover

  • I said I'd be there...but I'm not gonna be able to make it. Buddy is back on leave and wants to meet up, and since it's Veteran's day, I'm gonna buy him a drink or three. Next time!

  • I'm up for a caravan. Also have an empty seat if someone wants to go but doesn't want to drive.

    Still have the empty seat?
    I'm near Prices Corner.
    I'll PM you the number

If I don't hear from you...I'll be driving my Honda Element.

  • I have an empty seat Glen...

Gone- 2012 JK Rubicon with stuff. Long gone- Long-arm 2001 Cherokee with stuff.

  • Thanks to all that came out. It looks like this was the last meeting at Frazier's which is sad considering DEJA's long history with them.

The only thing constant, is change. Time to burn that bridge. There are too many other places that would welcome our $$$!

Before this gets too distorted, even back when it was still The Lobby House the charge for that room was $100.

Patti was able to negotiate them down to $50 because we were having 8-10 meetings there a year.

This year I think it was 1 or 2. The number of attendees has also decreased over the years.

It all comes down to business.

Here's one of my favorite pics from there. July, 2003.

  • This is unrelated to the meeting, but are any of you here the owners of the lifted beige (YJ?) and lifted yellow (TJ?) wranglers? I notice them almost every Friday at Frazier`s when I arrive with my usual crew for happy hour. I am the white JK, and my buddy is the black JKU with "Steel" on the tire cover. Friday regulars around 4:30ish.

  • Are we now officially searching for a new Dover meeting spot? Would there been any sense in approaching the Frazier's owner/manager about a fee reduction? I'd be willing to do that. Seems like some discussions have already happened, but I just wanted to be sure.

When engaged in conversation with a fool, be sure he is not similarly engaged.

  • Let me know if anyone talk to the owner, I know the owners daughter pretty well. My dad also holds month meeting there for the Air Force. I do plan to be come a full member shortly. I need to wait until my wife gets back to work before I can pay the money to join.

  • They raised it because we lowered the number of meetings we hold there... not really much we can do about it.

Jen tried to reduce the fee. It didn't work.

The gripe we had was that the restaurant was empty and we spent some good money there. A $100 fee is a good chunk of money for DEJA and I think we can find a restaurant that would accommodate us well without the fee if we look.

I was in a contractors association up north here and restaurants were begging for us to hold meetings let alone attempting to charge a fee. We should just keep our options open IMO.

  • Frasier's has been shitty to people for a long time now. It's as if they don't want the business. I have had similar experiences where the restaurant was empty and they acted as if they were doing us a favor by serving our party. Oh, and the Manager was badmouthing us because, get this, we wanted to move inside after a torrential storm came in and soaked the patio. Lol. Idiots...
