"Well, the date's set for April 6th! This date will allow Bob to bring his daughter"
You just made my daughters day, she has been pissed at me for not doing the Pine Barren Jamboree this year............Thanks, we can't wait to go!
Have you figured out where you're going in Wharton State Forrest?

Haven't quite gotten to that point yet. I was thinking either Batsto or Atsion where the park offices are. Reason being is that is where the camping areas are at for those of us who plan on staying overnight. I've never been there before so it's all new to me. Were you volunteering as the guide?? ![]()

Only if you want to follow the blind......But the great thing about the pine barrens is, if you get lost just keep driving straight and you'll eventually hit a road. Its not like you'll accidentlly end up on a red or purple trail butt clinched the whole way throuh. ![]()
I'm getting pretty excited about this trip. Been a while since I've camped (without the wife and kids).

What are people who are camping doing tent-wise? All I have are two tents one which is a 4 person and one which is an 8 person. I have been looking to pick up a small 2 person for solo camping trips like this. Anyone have any recommendations?

I have an EMS Sugar Shack 3. Its perfect for 2 people and some gear or one person and is still light enough and small enough to do small hikes with. It just cost a couple bucks but is so far sturdy and the setup/ break down is easy.

Backpacking tent from Walmart = $25 + A small tarp and Goretex bivy sack serves 75% of the time just perfectly.
I'll probably just bring my hammock and sleeping bag. Depends on weather.

I wish I could afford an EMS anything. Their stuff is nice but just way out of my price range. :-\
I've got one of these.

It is big enough for one person to be comfortable and is really easy to setup. Mine has never leaked a drop, even when it rained on us for 2 days straight in VA. You can find them on amazon cheaper then Eureka sells them direct for.

This was my second pick but ultimetly went with mine because it has a front and back vestibule for storage.
Hopefully I can put together the money for the EMS one )or similar) sometime in the near future. Too much going on right now otherwise so I'll probably just get something cheap to hold me over.

Either use your 4 person tent or I have an Eureka...something...2 person tent you could borrow. (or maybe it's a 4 person [packed as sardines])
I'm still debating on making this trip.
