Question for XJ folks...

  • My new '96 XJ has this annoying little light. I don't know what it's trying to tell me, or how to turn it off. It's a little red light, located at the base of the tachometer, that flashes in series of two. It never stops. It's getting annoying. It looks built-in, not like an aftermarket alarm or something. I didn't get an owner's manual with the jeep, so no help there. Anyone?

  • The monkey says thats a good one Joe

  • I just checked the 96 Cherokee owners manual and this light is not shown as part of the instrumemt panel. There are no lights on the tachometer according to the manual.

  • that is a alarm led. if it is not a jeep alarm, than it is an aftermarket one. someone just took the time to make it look right. trust me. it is not a standard light.
