Speaks for itself

  • Oh how I only wish...
Saddly no. I was coming home on Wednesday and encountered her at a
gas station in Milford. I was, however, lucky enough to corner the new
owner before he left. He's a younger guy named Eric who apparently
lives in the Elkton area. He just bought her in December.

I made him a cash offer to buy her back, but he declined - wants to
hold on to her for a while (which is completely fine by me as my major
concern was her being junked.) But because I blindsided him I didn't
want to pester him with his personal info so that's still a bit sketchy. I
did however give him my number and the club website.

Good news to me is that not only is she still alive and well, but, other
than front end damage, she's otherwise still well within restorable
condition. The snorkel was cut, the mileage not corrected, and I am
pretty sure the frame rust was never addressed, but I'm still in the
game. If anyone happens to see her on Rt40, Rt13, or down on
the beaches be sure to tell the guy "Hey, I know someone who will
buy that rig today - you should call him!"

  • YOU FINALLY TRACKED IT DOWN...that's cool, but ashame he wasnt willing to sell. hope he joins up and gives you first dibs if anything changes.

  • I think he'll let me know if he decides to sell... if he remembers
that is. He has a number in mind and I said I would meet it,
(hell, I budgeted $500 more than what he quoted) but I think
being approched by some stranger in a parking lot far from home
made it a bit too akward for a handshake deal.

  • :laughabove: Unless you have a camera crew with you like Fast N Loud! Lol

Glad you found it though! I see one on rt.40 a lot but no snorkel and pretty beat looking. If I ever run into the guy at DD again I'll try n get a pic.

Your life is made up of 2 dates and a dash... make the most of the dash!

  • So you were 10 months late catching up with the prior owner  Good to know she is still around and running though...

  • So you were 10 months late catching up with the prior owner

Yeah, i dont know how, i checked CL and Cars everyday. He
must not have listed her anywhere.

Good news is I secured his asking price so all he needs to
do now is call. Its gonna be tough sitting on this cash until
    then...

  • Glad you tracked it down, and hope that he does give you a call... Although if he had a number in his mind, seems to me like he might just be willing to let her go... I hope you are able to get her back and enjoy her again!!

If you don't stand behind our troops, feel free to stand in front of them!!!!

  • *sigh*....
    No word or new sightnings...
What do you guys think? I shouldnt be letting this
cash rot in the bank right now, I have bills needing
attention... yet... it would kill me if I missed it again...

How long should I wait before I call it?

  • I'd search for an MJ to your liking with low low low miles and no rust...and then make it your own. New Jeep, new name, and just remember the other one like it is.
