Stainless Exhaust System

  • Thinking of getting a new exhaust system for my 03 Rubi. I want a mild sounding stainless exhaust and have heard that Flowmaster and Magnaflow are good choices. My local Meinike shop advise that I buy it myself and they will install it. Don't know if single or dual would be best but at this point just looking. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • For an inline 6 I'd stick with a single exhaust. Duals sound good on a V8, not 6 bangers.

  • I bought a used Borla off someone on here.

It has a nice sound to it.

I run the Borla system too. it was on the jeep when I purchased it, good sound and nice exhaust tip (smashed that first time to Rausch).their customer service is great too., my muffler developed small cracks at outlet pipe, I called them up and described the issue, they asked me to take a pic and sent a new muffler right out, not too bad since I told them outright that I was not original purchaser

  • Remember that stainless is often thinner, work hardens faster and is very susceptible to cracking right next to a weld.

  • Just a heads up but Mighty Muffler has moved to North Wilmington from PA. Thats were I had my cutom exhaust installed. They do good work and they also bend there own stainless tube.

  • I ordered the Magnaflow Performance cat back kit from Quadratec today. It is stainless steel and has a lifetime warranty. They are having a special offer on this system and it is identical to the one Magnaflow recommends. I paid $251 which includes the 10% DEJA discount and got free shipping. Other web sites are charging much more for this kit so I am very happy. There is a backlog but there are 30 kits coming in 2 weeks. Cant wait.
