So for some reason my 01 jeep tj 4.0 5 speed is having a idle issue. When it's idling it idles at 500 to 800 rpm. Thought it should be at 1000. Any ideas on what it could be? I'm not getting any codes as of yet. Let me know if anyone knows what's up. Also I need help pulling my rear Trac bar to replace a bushing. Is there anyone that has the tools to do it.

Does it feel rough? 500-800 sounds fine... My XJ was only at 1000 during the warmup cycle. It shouldn't fluctuate though, it should stay fairly steady unless affected by the AC compressor or something.

I would tend to agree. Not worth messing with it if it doesn't actually feel like it's idling rough.

FSM says "The idle rpm should be between 500 and 900 rpm."

Mine will idle at 1000 when cold, then about 700 when warm, but it will stay steady.

Mine is around 1000rpm cold and 600-800 warm .Same lug nuts on it since 08 I think .
