I can vouche for the MT/R-K. I have them on my JK and are a great tire for daily driving, trail, and beach. A lot of us run them for a reason.
Getting a lift.

I've got mt/r's on my jeep and duratracs on the wife's Rubicon. My opinion, mtr' aggressive off road, great on rocks, mud, deep snow. Rain, packed snow, ice... not so good. The duratracs, not so aggressive off road, but better in rain, packed snow and ice. Ymmv, objects in mirror are closer than they appear.

My tires do particularly well in fog.
Scary shit comes out of the fog... Just sayin'

Welcome to the madness Andy!
x2...this thread is his main first impression of DEJA

Given the fact that it snows maybe three days out of the year here in Delaware I think i'll go with the fog tires. I hope they are pea soup rated.
-
Ok, so the tires are on backorder til late February or early March but I've got a deposit on them with the Goodyear shop. The suspension will arrive in a few days from Quadratec with DEJA discount. I ordered the wheels from Amazon. I should be ready for a wrench party when the tires arrive.
They guy at the tire store says he wants to take the sensors off the stock wheels and put them on the new ones. I guess that means I won't have the tires mounted before the lift.
-
where are you buying the tires?
-
where are you buying the tires?Goodyear Newark Tire and Service in Chestnut Hill Plaza. We got tires from them before as well as a Goodyear card.
-
U will want an alignment anyways so just bring it to them when the lift is done and have them put the wheel on.
-
And if your stock tires are in any kind of decent shape (read: not bald), keep them and sell them to make some $$ back on the new tires. The tire shop will probably charge you a disposal fee and then turn around and sell the tires for a little chunk themselves. Or keep them in case you need a set of tires to pass inspection.

Shocks and spare tire relocation bracket arrived today!

The rest of the lift arrived while I was at work. That was fast. I'll be getting a jack and stands at harbor freight tomorrow. Can't wait to get this installed. I hope the weather warms up soon. I'm free any weekend for a wrench fest.
