In the course of doing my lift I discovered that my YJ had bump stops. The key word is HAD....... Now it has a rusty mess of a bump stop bracket. I am running 32 in tires, but plan to run 35-37 in the future. Do I need bump stops. Do I need longer, shorter, or stock length bump stops. I have 2 inch shackles and a 4 inch spring lift. Thanks.
Question about bump stops.

The taller your tires and longer your shocks are, the longer your bump stops will have to be. They have to be the first and only thing to hit when you fully compress your suspension

Ok. So how do you determine what's the right size?
I just got new ones and they look too long.

Tire size and shock length really don't enter the equation.
Yes they do. Bump stops are your limiting factor. They should prevent both the tires from contacting the body or other components and also prevent the shocks from bottoming out.
That said, with a YJ and lift springs you will prob not need bump stops.
