painting stainless steel

    Can stainless steel be painted. Does it need to be etched for adhesion or just roughed up with steel wool. My ss exhaust tip is pitted. Do I need to use a high temp paint.

    Anytime you paint you should etch (sand or rough up). Regardless, on an exhaust you'll want to use an heat paint.
