**Club comp & 101 Trail Ride 4/16-17**

  • Well I'm not going to be in the contest but I'll definitely look into the license for future RC visits. How's communication usually worked out with the noobies at the 101 every year? Just trail bosses talking each group through it? I believe I saw the 101 from last year on YouTube

I did the 101 last year as my first trail run, with the club or otherwise, and everyone was very helpful. We did fine and had a good time without a CB, though I'm planning on grabbing one of the units Jerry has for sale to match with a basic antenna kit just to give it a try this time.

And I'd be interested in seeing the HAM setup, as would the 11 year old I'm dragging along.

  • Worst advice ever.

    No , this is..

"Crystal Meth will help you loose weight."

"Having a baby will fix your marriage."

"Unprotected sex with a IV drug user hooker is ok, just once or twice..."

Nobody belongs anywhere, nobody exists on purpose, everybody's going to die. Have a beer.

Not great advice, but also not incorrect.

  • I am almost certain I'll be healed up enough and the orthopedist will clear me for the broken foot.

WRONG! I just came from the doc who says I am healing but not healed, and I risk further, more permanent injury. It needs about three or four more weeks.

Your life is made up of 2 dates and a dash... make the most of the dash!

  • If this is your first time to Rausch I would print and fill out the membership app ahead of time. They have them there and half the time the line is long anyways but one less thing to do there.

Weather looks like low 60's during the day and upper 40's overnight. Little on the cold side for camping but not too bad. I'll probably wait a few more days to decide where I'm staying.

  • Bringing my BIL out to test his stock JK. Probably get out there Saturday morning. We'll both be camping Saturday night. Can't wait. [emoji12]

For the off road vehicle section I'm assuming I just put my jeep I'll be taking. And leaving tow rig the? Also how much will it be for the weekend? $55?

Yup just leave tow rig empty or N/A whichever you prefer. And yeah I think it was around $55. I bought a sticker so mine was different

If you don't have a good sleeping bag and ground pad, you'll be warmer in the XJ for sure. :) A lot of folks do that out west, throw a small air mattress in the back with the rear seat folded down.
