Campground Reviews

  • Just thought it might be helpful to collectively throw some info together. :campfire:
So we all regularly Camp at a CHSP, but i know many of us have stayed at other campgrounds in and around Delaware and all over.

We stayed at Jellystone for the 1st this weekend and it is really a great Family Friendly place - especially if you have little ones

One of our other favorites is Castaways - its got a Tiki bar on the beach, stuff for the even the teens like it.

Cape will be nice this year for the Fishing Tourney since they have some nice upgrades.

The Inlet Campgrounds are nice - no shade but plenty of other perks, including nice bathhouses. Northside has a Playground and Hammerheads.

Lums Pond after the upgrades is really nice, I never stayed there prior so can't say anything about before.

  • Rausch Creek:

    PROS:
    Free
    At Rausch Creek
    Lots of Parking

    CONS:
Distinct smell of fish near the sandwich shop when it was open
Wind blows through like all hell
Random guys dressed like bunnies showing up at your campsite at 3AM
Anti-Mexican standoff with roman candle policy

    Big Dogs:

    PROS:
Trees offer some cover from the rain which happens every time we are there
Convenient walk/stumble to the bonfire from camp 2
    Kick ass wheeling
    Gun range

    CONS:
Eugene blasting country music till 3am (no one is allowed to be loud later than us)
Eugene on the microphone at 7am
Apparently setting off tannerite after the gun range closes isn't cool
4 hour drive home after Saturday night janx
