For those that don't know, for many years DEJA has adopted a section of beach in Cape Henlopen. DNREC organizes a massive volunteer effort each year to help clean the beach, pick up trash, etc and we've helped out with that. This year it looks like (pending official confirmation) we will be helping cleanup The Point. Navy Crossing doesn't fall into the list of beaches to be cleaned so we'll be doing an unofficial cleanup on 8/26 as part of the cornhole tournament for that section.
Lots of good info here on the amount of effort that goes into the yearly cleanup: http://www.dnrec.delaware.gov/…ware-Coastal-Cleanup.aspx
Hoping to get 10-12 volunteers to walk the beach and help out as well as 1 person to be "captain". Doesn't really require any effort other than making sure all the checklists get turned in. Children/families welcome. The DEJA meeting is the same day as this and I don't think I'm going to be able to swing both this year.
