Deutz Allis 917H Garden Tractor

  • I used this for years to cut my yard. It ran when parked but there was a significant amount of blow by in the engine. It is a 17hp Kohler so parts are readily available. It has a 48" deck with a few small holes in it. The tractor is hydrostaticly controlled. It a HEAVY tractor. I had plans to fix it back up and use it again but haven't had time. I don't have the heart to put it outside and want the space back in my shop. $450 obo. Will trade for something cool (tools, guns, jeep parts, etc) I could also help with local delivery. Someone must need a new project.

  • That is worth effort to restore- I have an Ingersol 3012 similar to that, automotive style differential hyd-drive Koehler engine ladder frame, from 1967 (I think)....With maintenance, will last a lifetime.......

I know it is. I just have lots of other projects that need my attention. I thought about diesel swapping it too. They made a large snow thrower for these. I wanted one for clearing the lane to my shop. My wife thinks it cut better than the John Deere LX178 that has replaced it.

  • I have a specific question. I have an old tree in my garden that I need to pull out from my backyard. And I think I can do that with this tractor.

This looks like a slightly weird but innocent comment, right? When you trace back the IP it's in Canada. While I would like to think we have a huge international audience, we don't. So the account gets locked. We've discussed blocking all non-domestic IPs but it's easier said than done.

  • Indeed, the tractor is very good, we can say that it is in demand on the market.I had a similar tractor, mostly I used it to mow the grass on my site, but because of the engine in front and the deck between the axles, the grass under the tractor was often crushed by the wheels, which made it very difficult to mow it. After a year of operation, my boiler equipment just broke down. I started looking for a new tractor, but I found this store heming-engineering.co.uk , where I bought all the necessary equipment to upgrade the tractor.

  • I am not sure but I think that when it comes to tractors of such small sizes, it’s easier to buy a new one than to take apart an old one. And it often comes out cheaper. I say this because I have worked with both large combines for transporting building you can easily find a very similar tractor like yours, and it is very cheap. Moreover, you can disassemble your current tractor into parts and get extra money from it. With large tractors, of course, it gets already more difficult, and it would be definitely better to take it to the service to repair an old one.
