• So, I need to repair the two front bolt holes for the oil pan in my Jeep. I bought the appropriate helicoils but have no experience using them. Can I use a longer bolt of the same thread pitch, notch the tip of the bolt shank, with a nut threaded onto the bolt above the helicoil to set the helicoil into the hole? Do I use loctite on the helicoil to keep it in place once it's set? I am completely unedjyuuumahcayted on this subject. I'm currently referencing Youtube for some schooling...

  • drill and tap the hole per the kit instructions, insert helicoil with tool and u r done. Its really that easy. When u put the oil pain bolt in the helicoil digs in and holds itself in place.
