ISO ECM from 91 to 95 4.0L YJ or XJ manual trans.

Fyi, any ecu from 91-95 fron a yj of xj will work. Also auto or manual will not matter.

all of those years computers have a vss. It does not effect how the motor runs. It only effects outputs to the dash and trans which u dont need.

probably has the security feature that requires an rfi key. No way around that feature unless someone can program it out but not evrn sure that can be done.

I was at B&H auto salvage yesterday and a kid behind the counter told me he has a 95 YJ for sale. 4.0 5 speed for $500. I think he said it has around 130k on it. The frame is rotted out but the engine runs. I have his number if you're interested

I'm pretty sure a 91 has a different Ecu too. I have an extra from a 91 and it won't run right either.

Nope the fi was all the same from 91-95. Pre 91 was the renix fi. Those computers r deffinately different even though they look the same.

Hello, i am new to the group. I saw this post from Slimer and i also have the same problem. I have a 94 yj 4.0 manual. My ecu is shot i found a 94 xj auto one and it fires up the jeep then it dies in a few seconds. Is this from the auto ecu? This has been driving me nuts. I cant find a reasonable priced 94 4.0 manual ecu. Any help is very much appreciated.

it sounds like the xj may have had the security feature on it. There r companies that can remove the electronic interlock. Any obd1 4.0l ecu will work for any obd1 jeep. Auto or manual doesnt matter but if the origial had the anti theft feature it will need the rfi pill in the key to work. Look up "skim key issues".

I will have to look to see if I still have a spare. I am planning to part my YJ out early next year when I get back to my commando build and I will have one for sale then.
