GMRS or CB Radio?

  • So what are people putting in their Jeeps when it comes to communications?

Are people making the transition to GMRS or are they sticking with the trusty CB radio?

  • I recently installed a mxt275. Also have a handheld GMRS I use them for personal communication at our property in the mountains. I still have my CB installed till I decide what way to go. My understanding is that GMRS is leading the future but I haven’t been out from behind my rock lately to see what takes priority at rides. My guess is GMRS/FRS is common to the side by sides, so having a CB may still benefit full size rigs in crowded places.

  • Check out Midland or Rugged radio. They have both sponsored DEJA and have top notch poducts.

Nobody belongs anywhere, nobody exists on purpose, everybody's going to die. Have a beer.

  • GMRS requires a license, but it is a 10 year and does not require a test. Some rules, pay and they assign a call sign it’s also a “family” license, not just an individual
