Hello all I have questions regarding the trail rides and required equipment and color recommendations. I have an 05 LJ on 4" lift, Core 4x4 crawl series control arms and track bars, 33x12.50r15 KO2s, and stock drive train. I have been on some "green" trails and they were pretty easy Id like to try blues but wondering if my rig is up to the task.Any insight would be appreciated. Want to join in on the upcoming AOAA trail ride but don't want to get stuck or hold up the whole group. And sorry if I put this in the wrong area.
Questions regarding trail rides.

Driver experience plays a decent role but for a TJ/LJ on a 4" lift, you should be able to handle a good number of the blue trails without too much trouble but might need a hand in some sections. Do you have any skid plates? Differential guards or heavy duty replacement covers are pretty important, plus gas tank and engine/transmission skids.

I agree with Jerry. 3.5”, 33’s on my TJ was the best combo. Engine skid is almost a requirement, but with the right spotter, and a good ear, blues can be a blast.

No skids as of yet blew my budget on death wobble shenanigans. They are absolutely next on the list of upgrades.

You “could” but I’d recommend an engine skid on a TJ before going blue.

Thats the exact opposite of what I have been told everyone told me gas tank skid first. But which one would you recommend?

Engine. Your gas tank should have a skid. Not much of one, but something. Take out that oil pan, you aren’t driving home. Crunch your gas tank skid, you’ll just have to fill up more frequently. LOL. My TJ held about 8 gallons of gas before I finally swapped the tank/skid from taking the abuse.
