Repair Shop near Wilmington

  • I’m located in Wilmington. I have an ‘05 TJ that’s been in and out of a shop to address a vibration 48-60 mph. Both driveshafts have been replaced, wheels balanced but my shop is stumped. Front and rear brakes replaced.

I need recommendations for other shops to try. I don’t do the work myself.

    Thanx

  • Starts around 48 mph in the seat. At 55 or so, it moves to the steering wheel. At 65+ mph it gets worse but it’s not the death wobble. The vibration is high pitched.

Tomorrow, I’m heading to another shop to get their take. I’m afraid my usual shop exhausted their best effort.

  • First of all, the TJ’s issues have been resolved. North East Auto Body on the east side in Wilmington handled the job. Jeep drives smoothly now so I can finally enjoy it.

To make a short story long, the replacement front housing assembly had an odd size yoke(?) that caused play with the front driveshaft. NE Auto diagnosed and repaired it.

I realize I may be mischaracterizing individual Jeep parts because of ignorance. What I originally referred to as a differential is called something else entirely.

Anyway, this chapter is closed successfully.
