July 4th: America's 250th BOH Badge
-
-
What is the BOH
-
Badge of honor. It’s a jeep sponsored program. A couple trails in our wheeling spots
-
It's basically a marketing initiative. (And a brilliant one, imo.)
Jeep designates specific trails as BOH trails. Jeep owners can download the BOH app and login at each individual BOH trail trailhead. Once you've completed a trail, you can request a trail badge for that trail.
The easiest BOH trail in our area is Peters Mill Run in George Washington Forest (VA). It's more or less a scenic drive along a mountain ridge, not a technical trail. Quite beautiful, definitely stock jeep friendly.
Around 1 hour NE from Peters Mill Run you'll find Maryland's first boh trail, Trail 2103 at Wolf Den Run state park. Another trail which is more scenic than technical, but still well worth the time. There are many trails at Wolf Den, it would take a full day to see them all. 2103 is stock friendly, as are many of Wolf Den's trails. It's possible to do Peters Mill Run and 2103 in one day.
In PA we have 4 boh trials, 2 at Rausch Creek, 2 at Anthracite Offroad Adventure Area. These 4 boh trails are quite technical, mostly rock crawling. High potential for damage if you're not careful.
