Engine. Your gas tank should have a skid. Not much of one, but something. Take out that oil pan, you aren’t driving home. Crunch your gas tank skid, you’ll just have to fill up more frequently. LOL. My TJ held about 8 gallons of gas before I finally swapped the tank/skid from taking the abuse.

You “could” but I’d recommend an engine skid on a TJ before going blue.

Have you considered registering out of state? We have a couple members here familiar with getting things on the road. Check out https://www.dirtlegal.com/?aff=247

I agree with Jerry. 3.5”, 33’s on my TJ was the best combo. Engine skid is almost a requirement, but with the right spotter, and a good ear, blues can be a blast.

Wow. Looks like a project. Thanks for saving it from the scrap yard

Nice report. Thanks for sharing.

I miss the old days. Shed off the side of the road. Still a 300 dollar day with gas/food. (With passenger). Do like not having the member fee on top for 1x a year.

Had a great time with the Green/light blue Crew. We covered somewhere around 17 miles of trails on both properties. On the east, we hit 22 and paused for a couple mins to watch the blue/black guys wheel (trail 39 I believe) . 28 -10- 41 where YJ Dave and Captain hit Barney Rubble(49) and met back up with the crew on the other side took 17 to the pipeline for lunch (and a group shot) before heading over 10, down 22 and over to the west side to find Fern Ridge. 102 and bootlegger out, 102 back. After some fuel pressure issues (YJ Dave) captain broke off and hit the start of 121 Fern Hill. At the next entrance of 121 the crew decided to head in and give it a shot. Great little section that made me think twice about my decision. I picked a good line and spotted Blue Sky right on through (stock, no skids he was amazed). And a slightly different line for Gary in the Gladiator to miss the trees. Captain brought up the rear (no spotting required), and met back up with YJ Dave giving the carb/fuel a break. 112 to 111(a, b, c) to 110 102 and back to the main lot. Thanks for the opportunity to lead, and figure out the trails. The crew did great (including correcting my poor map skills) and to my knowledge no major damage. Felt good to be back on the trails.
