Welcome to the club. The Facebook page is typically more active than the web site, so be sure to find them if you are a FB fan Sorry for your loss and I hope you can find happiness and share memories with his jeep.

I added the topsy brackets to my hardtop. I installed a hoist and it’s pretty easy to take off. Honestly if I did it again, I’d just use 4 ratchet straps and Eye hooks i stead of dealing with the hoist. The topsy brackets are a game changer for the rear. https://topsyproducts.com/collections/jl-hoist-brackets-kits

GMRS requires a license, but it is a 10 year and does not require a test. Some rules, pay and they assign a call sign it’s also a “family” license, not just an individual

I recently installed a mxt275. Also have a handheld GMRS I use them for personal communication at our property in the mountains. I still have my CB installed till I decide what way to go. My understanding is that GMRS is leading the future but I haven’t been out from behind my rock lately to see what takes priority at rides. My guess is GMRS/FRS is common to the side by sides, so having a CB may still benefit full size rigs in crowded places.
