  • New Bestop Install

    I did a quick search and couldn't find what I am looking for. Hopefully someone can help.


    I am trying to install a Brand new Bestop on my TJ and I have most of it done. But there are these bars that are mounted to the top of the body just behind the doors. I have installed them but when I close the door the end of the bar is pressed hard up against the weather seal on the door. The instructions say that I may need to "modify" the bars if I am running full steel doors.


    So my question is do I need to make the hole in the top of the body larger or longer so that the bars can sit a little further back? I have included a few pics. Thank you in advance for your help!

    WOW!! What an adventure. Did you try putting the Yukon in 4WD Low? I'm just wondering if that was useless as well.


    Pictures or video of this adventure would have been so great! Obviously that was not high on your list of things to do but it would have been cool to see.

    Nice Jeep!!


    Do what you can to keep your Jeep as safe as possible please. Mine is lifted and has 35s so there is inherent danger there but we all do what we can to keep them safe. Last thing we want is bad press around a lifted Jeep killing a family of four and then legislation comes down that 4" lift kits and 35s are illegal.

  • Trying to decide which bumper to buy.

    I have the Rugged Ridge RRC Rear Bumper with Hitch and Swingout Tire Carrier. Picked it up at the ding sale at qtec for $150.


    I am happy so far BUT i have been told that it will get caught up on rocks and other junk on the trail. If I was buying one brand new I'd be looking for something with a little more clearance.

  • Soft Top Maintenance

    My buddy uses petroleum jelly on his canvas top for his boat. Works great!


    I saw on Qtec that Best Top sells something to protect the fabric it might do similar to what the 3M stuff does but also have some UV protectant in there.

    When you buy a kit like this does all of these parts just replace what you have in your stock axle housing? If so this seems like a good choice yes?



    As for your question. My Jeep has 35X12.5QR15 BFG ATs with the stock axles and it is running fine on the road. I am worried that something might break this summer when I get it off road but that's life. If your not going to be doing a bunch of off roading yet I'd just wait on your axle upgrades. My plan is drive it till it breaks and then fix it. BUT this is not my DD.
