I've got the midland as well and it's worked well on the trail. Never really tried over distance.wow that is a really cool radio..
looking to put something into my tacoma pickup.. starting to build it up now.. i was not gonna do anything to it but i got the fever again..

I have some storage bins i used in my garage. I moved so i no longer have any use for them.
