Well i ended up getting the Magnaflow put on today. I like the sound. Im sure that once its past the break in period i will really like the sound.

So I have narrowed my exhaust choices for my 02 Liberty down to either the 40 series Flowmaster or the 50 series. I know the 50 series is more quiet but i want to be able to hear the flowmaster. I want something that sounds good with the V6 but I dont know if the 40 series will be to loud. I have looked all over youtube for clips but they all sound like crap since the recordings are all on camcorder microphones. I cant seem to be able to hear the real sound. Any thoughts on this?

If you can "feel" one of those f'ers in a 2 ft deep puddle then please pick some lottery numbers for me because you have quite a gift...
I understand what your saying, however I have never had to look for things like these spikes. I have been on the look out for a large rock or log. anything large and hard you can possibly feel if you poke around for a few minutes. Looking for these may not work but I always check the water that I have never been to before I drive through it. There have been many times that I have hit a rock (or something hard) with the stick and been able to steer clear. as far as 2 foot deep water I have not driven through water that deep since i drove my issued Army Humvee. Im not going to drive my stock liberty through anything that deep till i get some parts on it. I would get stuck no matter what is on the bottom.

How do you do that? Wade 50 yards through thigh deep 40* water? Sort of takes the fun out of it. I'd rather take my chances with the tires.
Well no that would be a little much, however when ever i cross water that i have never been to before i test with a stick, pole, or branch (whatever i can find laying around) If i see that the water is not to deep to cross i poke around with the stick and check for any large rocks or things that i could get stuck on or would harm the vehicle. Im not saying wade through the water but a few pokes of a tree branch could be the difference between a good run and a large repair bill. You wont find the problem every time but in my opinion its better than just taking my chances and getting stuck or blowing a tire. -
Wow that is a shame. Im glad that at least these were picked up. I really hope that no one gets hurt from anything like this. But I guess this goes to show that you should always check the water before your drive through. You may not catch it every time but its good to check.

Going with the Military ID route...Aberdeen Proving Ground has a shop where you can rent a lift and most the parts you need. I know its still open, I helped my co-worker work on his truck.don't have the ID anymore

Get to know us here better and you can probably find someplace to work on your Jeep.
We call them "wrenchfests".
Typically you would supply drinks and food.
There are also a couple that will do work for $$ depending on what you need done.
I think DAFB has a "hobby shop" like what you described.
That sounds cool. I will have to look into the base. and your wrenchfests sound cool.

Not really going to find anything like that around here.
Too much cost involved to keep an inventory of all that stuff just so people can touch it.
The internet is your best bet.
Not only can you shop online, but you can research products in great depth.
Yeah I do believe your right. How about a place that can install things for a fair price? Since I live in an apartment I am not allowed to do vehicle maintenance or work in the parking lot. I can go to a friends house for simple stuff. When I was at Ft Bragg they had a place where you could rent a shop bay with a lift and all the tools you ever needed. Good old Army days wish there was a shop like that here.

Shop online!I have, but I guess im a bit old school. and im not even that old haha. Really its more that I like to see the part and hold it in my hand before i buy it. However, I guess i may have to bite the bullet, catch up with the times, and shop online

. I know now with the internet a speed shop may be a bit dated. Any thoughts?

Hello all, My name is Joel. After many years I have returned to Jeep. My first Jeep was a 2000 Wrangler Sahara, but the Army issued me a Hummer so I sold it for a sports car
. About 2 weeks ago I bought a 2002 Liberty Limited from my cousin and love it. I would like to get back into some trail rides and do some small mods (e.g. 2-3" lift, bigger tires, ....) Here is a pic of the ol'girl.
