Make sure if you do the swap, you take the time to weld the tubes so you don't twist one by only relying on the pressed in pins.

Anyone know of a place that has a laser CNC machine in the area that could do something like that?
-
maybe this is a dumb question.... but how precise can you get with this machine? I have a few parts for a home project i am designing that i was going to cut and grind with a dremel, but this seemed like it could work nicely. The pieces I am looking to get cut are not very big, both pieces are probably smaller than a large index card together. one piece on a 1/16" piece of treated steel, and the other on a 1/32" piece i believe. The only problem is the pieces need to be cut down in measurements of 1000ths of an inch. Needless to say its a lot of work with a micrometer and a dremel. Is this machine capable of that?

Its a 4.0L

I already have a mechanical gauge in it and that is what I am reading from. The factory gauge is disconnected. I am hoping all it is is the oil pump. Which wont be a hard fix, especially since i will be swapping the trans in the next month or so.
Any recommendations for a pump? MOPAR or MELLING high volume?
Thanks for any/all input everyone!

I got it somehwat drivable at the moment, but the trans should be done being rebuilt this weekend.

Whats up Jeepers?
Im havin a little mechanical gremlin and Im not sure what to do.... My oil pressure is not what it should be and Im trying to gather ideas/possible fixes to try to get a gameplan together.
As it was a few days ago, my oil pressure was as follows:
Cold start idle: 45-50 psi
Running highway speeds @2400-2600RPM: 30-32psi / @3000 RPM(< 1min) 35psi
Hot idle: 10-12 psi
When I would start it with the FRAM it would jump to 20psi almost instantly and then took it about 10 seconds to make its way up to cold idle pressure. Hot idle pressure was achieved after about 5 min of warm up, and about 15-20 minutes of driving between Magnolia and Dover AFB. When it was hot, it would barely make its way up in pressure as i accelerated from a stop. (using the 10psi/1000RPM rule of thumb).
I have used FRAM filters on the majority of the vehicles i have owned without a problem, but recently read some info that made me try something different. So, I had a couple Mobil 1 filters in the garage from my foxbody which happened to be a higher capacity replacement for the standard size Mobil 1 filter for the 4.0L. So, first thing this morning, I pulled the Fram filter off, filled the new filter up, and topped off my oil and fired it up. To my amazement, it had APPEARED to have made a bug difference. At least at first.
Current pressure readings:
Cold start idle: 60 psi
Running highway speeds @ 2400-2600RPM: 35-37psi/ @3000 RPM (< 1min) 39-41 psi
Hot idle: 8-11 psi
With the Mobil 1 filter it jumps to 40 almost instantly, and takes only a couple seconds to reach cold idle pressure. Same time/driving style used to reach hot idle. Once its hot it gets up to pressure a little faster than previously, but not much. By the time I got from Camden walmart to Wilkens RD in Milford, my hot idle pressure was at 7-8 psi.
The current oil in the engine is Castrol GTX Hi mileage 10W-30 with a little bit of lucas additive.
At this point i am looking for ideas as to what I should do to try and fix it/make it last a little bit longer until finances are better.
My ideas as of now include:
1) step up to 40W oil
2) Melling/Mopar HV oil pump (if this fixes it, GREAT! If not, Ill have a nice new pump for a rebuild)
3) Last resort, pull motor and rebuild. (Cam bearings, main and rod bearings, and anything else that may require it upon teardown)
Looking for any ideas! please help! -
No. My buddy who is doin the rebuild had some family stuff to take care of so im trying to be understanding considering the money he's savin me. I spoke to him tuesday and he will be workig on it today since he has the day off. Im hoping he can finish it today. I will update as soon as I know when ill be geting it back so I can see if someone can give me a hand. It would be much appreciated from anyone who can help.
And for anyone who helps, there is some room on his farm to go wheeling(pond, woods) and I am always willing to furnish some grub and maybe beer.
