yeah, it has heated seats and they work. i dont know if they will fit. they show 220k miles of wear but a seat cover makes it look nice and its still comfy. and everything interior wise is working condition. ill get pics tomorrow

Where's a good fuse diagram?

Ok so my girlfriend's jeep hasn't had heat or a since she bought it. So since it's getting colder I figured I'd try to fix it for her. Read all the fourms/watched you tube videos/talked to multiple mechanic friends of mine. All said it was most likely the resistor or the blower motor. Did more research. Found the resistor is a common problem. Pulled it out and inspected it and sure enough the wires and plastic clip were melted to the resistor unit. Sweet. Easy fix. Spliced 3 wires and plugged resistor into blower motor. Turn on air hoping for high spend wind in my face with dust and food pelting me as it got forced out of the vents. Well nothing happened. Figured a chain of events of the blower motor going bad and the knows still set to high might have been the reason the resistor harness melted. Ordered oem blower motor and fan assembly and housing. Bent the pins in just a bit for a better connection. Put safety goggles on expecting flying vent debris to pelt my face. Crank it on. Hold my breath. And nothing. Not even a whim of electricity rushing to the fan. So. I'm new with this whole electrical stuff. Could my splices be bad? Is there any way to find out if juice is getting to the resistor and then further more to the blower? I have an extremely livid female partner right now and need to make her happy or I won't be. Help?????

ID LOVE IT I HAVE A RED 89 XJ THAT WOULD COMPLIMENT IT BUT FUNDS ARE TOO TIGHT FOR ME ATM
MAYBE IN 3 MONTHS? -
In dire need of an 89 xj water reservoir. Just did my water pump, fan clutch, thermostat, radiator, top and bottom hoses...ran on water to not waste antifreeze/drain antifreeze everywhere.pressure build up cracked the weakest link. All that being said I'm very short on money and can't wait for 3 days shipping. If anyone can help let me know! KCCO

Xj passenger mirror still available?
-
Still have the xj pass. Mirror. Just so happens I need that. Lol
-
Thanks for the replys. After digging through the Internet I just went and pulled it because it had to be done anyway but future reference the 89 xj is 3 5/8 one if this problem ever arises again!

ok i have an 89 xj 4.0 straight 6. im about to do the water pump in her but i see 2 different hub heights. does this matter? if it does what size do i need or where do i need to measure from....i cant seem to find anything on this except from 87 to 00 thats the only thing that changed on the xj pumps. same flow and bolt set up etc...just hub height.

Agreed. Another part of this beautiful fml jeep moment. The screw tabs on the rad fan broke and it was rubbing against my p/s pulley...so I just unplugged it and tossed it in the back of the jeep. Lol. So one fan down but still over heats more than I'd expect...or maybe I had high expectations. ..

yeah...thermostat is stuck wide open so thats a must...it looks like the p/o used a radiator stop leak before at some point(metal flakes floating in coolant) and im having slight temp issues when shes not moving...think i wanna do a serious flush because i think that stuff is clogging some lines...
-
thank you renegade for the imput. its summer...ill worry about defrost when the time comes lol any other possible issues that could arise from doing this?(i.e. higher temp because of a shorter circut?) i dont think it does but im not really car savy...just a thinker on how to fix on a budget.

89 amc xj....got water coming in from my lower vents on the floorboard....so its gotta be coming from the heater core....i see 2 lines running through the firewall im guessing are the in and out flow pipes for it...say i just bypass the heater core all together and link them together. other than no heat in the winter what are possible issues/concerns in doing this? anybody ever hear of this being done? is it possible? HELP! -pruned feet

bueller....bueller?

i never understood why people throw hundreds of dollars into their gear....sure it helps a little but i have 3 ten foot poles(all from walmart, each set up no more than 50 bucks), pvc tubes as my sand spikes and would walk onto the beach before i got my jeep...and catch the most/biggest fish of anyone there....everything from spot/croaker to 40 inch stripers, 8 foot sharks and 80 pound rays...all with 20 pound mono and a 18 inch steel leader(except the spot/croaker, they were top/bottom set ups). its not how much u throw into it its how many times you throw it in

-
so my 89 xj that has all these small issues needs just a few minor parts to ease my mind....both sideview mirrors are hanging on by a dab of gorilla glue...the driver side folds in at speeds over 40 and the passenger side drops off on and major bump or pot hole...oem were chrome not black plastic and im trying to keep it as close to stock as possible but ill do what i gotta do. rear windhield wiper arm jusp presses on no bolt...already paid a junk yard 15 bucks for the wrong one with no returns...
...and a passenger side window/door lock switch thingie...again chromed out as was stock. anything out there? no rush just feeling the waters -
hassel? yes...but at the same time seeing a guy walk to the complete opposite side f the pond talking crap is halarious...and the ponds down state arent like the creeks of NCC...they actually give you breathing space and casting space...and with it being a bit warmer i think the worst ice ive seen is just a little crust around the edge....just enough to cut the 3 lb line lol
