Here's a copy of the FSM wiring diagram. Your gonna have to get your hands dirty a bit.

First thing, I would do is find any and all wires the the PO had for random lights, dixie horn or other non essential stuff and eliminate them. You prob wont have much to fix after the BS is removed and you may only have to replace a few pig tails once you get to a real problem. I know Fitzgeralds has a few YJ's just chilling in the yard there, cut what you need and correctly splice in. If I had some free time I'd swing down to look it over but I'm booked solid with work and family till Mid July.

What makes you think you need a re-wire? Just Asking? My old YJ did the same exact thing and all I had to do was replace the cluster. They are known for corroding inside the printed circuit on the back.

Edit: Just read it again and deciphered the hacked wiring part. Still the above and you should be able to find where they once went and maybe not have to spend more than you need.

I'm taking my name out of this one this time. Serious medical issues in my immediate family are keeping me close to home and within cell service range.

Not that I can think of off hand, If you keep it small like in the 2" range you should be just fine. My only problem is that you lose a lot of your approach angle and clearance in the front.

If it was me building a bench, I would look into a metal bench top. You would be able to weld on it or to it if needed plus you can ground to it if your welding a small part.

The snap ring goes in fine, but it seems to put too much pressure on the gears to the point where it binds. Like with everything in place and the output shaft out of the tcase, i can almost not turn the chain gear by hand.

So I started my SYE install tonight and everything was going smooth, like really smooth till I reinstalled the snap ring onto the gear assembly that goes on the output shaft. Im using generous ATF to lube everything up but its still very stiff. Im just wondering if anyone else has had a problem like this?

My group will be arriving on Thursday around mid-day, hopefully.

Finished my 8.8 swap and took it for a shake down run in the snow last night. Handled great, but do have some driveline vibes but the SYE and CV will take care of that.

I took that weekend off so I hope thats the date. I may have another Jeep tagging along with me as well.

Did you ever get the cover off and see if its the R/P or spiders? If its the spiders, I'd just replace them till you can build the axles you want.
