A set of Smitty Sliders and my IRO 8.8 bracket kit.
-
I would go 8.8. At the JY in Kenton, they have a ton of 8.8 3.73 posi axles, that way you wouldn't have to regear. Most of the brackets I've seen are for either the D44 or D60 and you have to grind to fit, Iron Rock Offroad has the brackets made for the 8.8 and all of the swap parts. Another problem is the 8.8 are shorter by 1 1/4" so 5/8" spacers are need to set the wheels back to stock. For the E-Brake you can make your own brackets and I believe the the 8.8 make the rear 3/8 taller than the stock D35.

Well, as soon as I was in on this im out. Have a meeting that I have to attend. I'll deff. catch up on next years runs.
-
I'd be in for the Monday (27th) ride, I would have to meet you there in the am. Might have my new lift together by then.
-
Personally, I would go with a swing away tire carrier down the road. Its an upgrade and saves the hinges and latch.

Here are the pics from the event, sorry they are so late. Steve(Camera guy) loaded them that night onto his laptop and cleared his memory card. His laptop promptly crashed about an hour after, lol. They were able to save most of the pics from his hard drive but did lose some. I also have about an hour of video to still go through and will get the stills and maybe a comp of the event later.

The Rugged Ridge 8500 and the Smittybuilt XRC8 are the same specs, I have a XRC8. I read all the reviews and of the few thousand I read there were only 2 or 3 failures and the rest of the bad reviews were people just complaining about brand name. Mine has worked just fine for me so far, the paint faded quick but that doesn't hurt functionality. I made sure I receive the upgraded version with the 5.5hp motor and the stainless fasteners. I plan to move the control box under the hood for better protection at a later time. I bought mine from Winchdepot.com which is an affiliate of 4wd hardware for 289 with free shipping.

When I asked if she wanted to do this again, her reply was "sure, but not until you get a lift and some bigger wheels"...lol...woohoo.
Get that in writing...lol. Glad your group did well and you had a great first impression behind the wheel offroad. -
Had a great run, blues with a few black lines. Hope the other groups did well too. Pics will be added as soon as steve(passenger) gets them to me.

Shooting for 8am here, see you all there.

They actually sell fuse block taps online (never found one local) but i used a male quick connect end. I think i did had to grind it down a bit to fit the mini bus port.
-
Mine does this a lot after I've left it idling, I have a aux. fan in front to help on the realy hot days due to the winch blocking the lower portion to the radiator opening.

The four door definitely invited a new breed of owner to Jeeps for better or worse.I think this will change as more JK's enter the used vehicle market when the next trendy kid hauler vehicle debuts. People with older YJ's and TJ's who have wheeled and want to embrace the jeep lifestyle will pick them up and the more waves we will receive. Personally, I don't like the 4 door's at all but a extended wheel base, better axles and 35's on a little lift sounds pretty good to me.

When you open it the strap should slide out and the glove box comes off. I used a fuse port for the power for my CB. Like so(not my pic but same setup):

My cb also had a fuse built in the wiring pigtail so i did not need to put one inline, if not make sure you do that.

That's not the only TJ I've seen go through a permanent structure in the last 2 weeks...lol. A guy at the firehouse put his though one of the bay doors
. Funniest thing I've seen in awhile. -
I have the Pyramid in mine, it has been alot better than the stock speaker. Even had a compliment about the sound while sitting next to a stock 05. Will I put a better amp behind it someday, yes but for now its the last of my worries.

But how do I know who you are?
Black TJ Sahara/ Tan rollbar padding - DE tagsI may have another TJ going with, idk yet.

I not about the large group either, but I'm in for greens/blues/blacks (not picky)
