Oh, that sucks.
Take a saw to the brackets to get the seats out and grind off what's left?

i'm assuming there is a door seal leaking somewhere. if i find the leak and nip that. there should no longer be any moisture in the vehicle. but i'm more concerned with mold and mildew coming back after i clean it. could the mold be behind door panels and dash etc. ? should i go as far as stripping the interior?
If you clean everything well, and address any source of moisture, the mold shouldn't return unless the moisture does. Where was it stored? If it were somewhere humid or damp (or even outside given the relatively mid winter), it might not have been a leak but rather just humid conditions. If it were a leak, there would likely be a spot or areas where the mold is much worse.
And I wouldn't suggest any fancy cleaners, and don't get sucked in by claims related to mold, just stick to the basics. Watered down bleach where you can (1 cup bleach to 1 gallon water) and look at using baking soda and vinegar on fabrics and other soft surfaces.
Good luck. That smell is terrible to get rid of sometimes.
I'd recommend going with 35-inch mud tires and at least one locker in the rear axle if you want to do blacks. I'm on BF Goodrich KM3s now -- great tires! Winch: Warn. Skid plates are very, very important. You'll need rocker guards to avoid body damage on the rocks. There are lots of JK guys here who can be more specific.
Having had to get my TJ on 33's yanked out of a spot that Jay cruised through, I'd have to agree with the tire size. And since that spot had me high centered almost completely supported by my skid plate, I'd agree those are vital as well.....

I finally put a stop to the puddles of coolant that kept mysteriously appearing under the Jeep with a new water pump.....now back to the electrical issues....
Been through it too - might have been the loudest sound my TJ ever made.
Axle swap from a 4 cylinder?

Possible, if you can find a set (IIRC only the manual trans models came with 4.10's) but you still have the general concerns about the D35. I've got the setup you're talking about and have run it with 33s for quite a while, but I'll be looking for an 8.8 soon.
Very possible. I'm trying to get it through to the weekend so I can take a good look at everything.
Thanks!
Thanks. Battery is fine and I just cleaned up the terminals last week as that is a recurring issue for me. I'm thinking it might be some odd short behind the dashboard. I tried starting it yesterday and hit the headlight swith just to make sure I hadn't left them on. Once I hit the lights all the electronics suddenly came on and it fired right up. ![]()
Starting the TJ this morning and I was met by no crank, very dim dashboard lights and an odd buzzing sound from behind the dashboard. Just replaced the starter a few days ago and it's been running fine. Battery was recently checked (to make sure it wasn't contributing to previous starting issues) and the dim lights and buzzing are something I've not had happen before. Anyone have any ideas?
Is it a 4cyl? I have a 4cyl with 33's and I know that feeling (although I have a manual so it came with 4.10 gears, which helps). If I get a tailwind going down the right hill I can hit 70.
Awesome! 97's are the best - I'm on my second one.
I have a bunch of shock mount bolts if you want to see if they would work

Thanks but I think this is going to be a drill and replace scenario. Thankfully I have a small body lift, so I can get to the welded nuts easy enough to knock them off and put something more serviceable in there.
I realized that one of my shocks has come loose - it was sticking out the back of the Jeep. One of the mount bolts snapped. Ugh. ![]()
I have a 36G bowfront aquarium and a tub of filters, pieces and parts sitting in the basement gathering dust. There are at least two full filters and other pieces needed to get the system up and running. Can include a homemade stand.
Looking for $150

Welcome to the club!
Welcome and very nice Jeep! Always good to meet other Kent County people - I'm just over in Magnolia.
