We can try to get it changed. It's early.
if they would change it I would be in but if you and Tonka enter you would only need two more jeeps. Getting a couple fresh faces involved would be a good thing. Maybe post up a sign up thread for a couple of days to see if anybody else wants to participate before asking for a change ?
-
22nd is bad for us also.
-
If the date stays firm, we are going to need some members to sign up tp complete a team of four if DEJA is to compete. I'm not to sure what the class requirement was for a team but if Billy and Tonka are in we will need two more rigs. Do we want to split this post and start a sign up ?
-
Looks like they are sticking with this date wich is a bummer. With Aaron, Bob, Glen and the rest of the 40's crew out of the mix, we need two more for the team. Any takers?
-
It says May 6 on the Rausch Creek home page http://rc4x4.org
-
That's the normal comp. club comp is always early.
-
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think we have 2 out of 4 so far:
1. @Tonka
2. @KnoxRents
3.
4.I need to pull the rules but I think it's however many class 1-2 and max 2 class 3-4, Billy is class 3 or 4, I think Tonka is class 2. So we can fit up to 1 more class 3/4 or 2 class 1/2.
@Slowpoke you interested? anyone else?
-
I think I can qualify for Class 1 if I disconnect my front locker.
-
Last I looked I thought class 1 was allowed two lockers.....I'm not sure my Jeep is even competitive as class 1, but I'm happy to help in any way I can. Been out there the last two years and had fun watching!

its a class 1 or 2 jeep. It doesnt matter. Need 2 jeeps in the lower classes and 2 in the upper class. Or u can have any combination but can have no more then 2 rigs in the upper classes.

Maybe I've missed it, but I have not seen the deadline for the clubs to sign up.

So here's my two cents from my experiences competing. It would be nice to have jeeps that have two lockers. Or at least a locker and an lsd. Correct gearing is also a big help. The comps are all about turning, traction and throttle control. Lockers give traction, throttle control is tough without gearing and steering on a tj is good the smaller it is. I'd say 33's are big enough and the rest is all about your ability to listen to your spotter and know how to control your jeep. Skids or a disregard for your jeeps well being sometimes help also. I did my first club competition a few years back because another team was down a driver and I haven't missed one since. I can tell you that if you have any interest in this you should take advantage of these open spots and give it a try. It is a ton of fun and it would be a bummer if we cant pull together a team. Post up if your interested.

I'm in if you want me. I've got 33s, two lockers, a 95:1 crawl ratio (with a 4-Low kit I put in the transfer case after Otter's), skids, and a high disregard for trail damage.
1. @Tonka
2. @KnoxRents
3. Slowpoke

I like how "after Otter's" is now referred to as a landmark time event. We'll start referring to 1AO as 1 year after the events of Otter's. It's still the longest recovery I've ever done. It was fun in hindsight.

Longer than mine at Big Dogs?
-

Does anyone know?
-
Yes, Otter's was longer than yours at Big Dogs, John. It was April 2016. It took four hours to go about 100 feet, driver's side ball joints separated twice, among other things. Tonka was in front of me and Stafford behind, both winching on me at once.
-
Crap, we we both winching in opposite directions? That's probably what took so long. John, you broke in a really inconvenient way at a really inconvenient place but Jay's was much worse. I did sweat less with Jay's though.
