The GWNF run was the first trail ride the jeep has been
on since the 4.0 swap and the spring over work.
Here is a quick report on any issues
On the way to the camp site the jeep behind me reported that I was putting out a little smoke
not the motor but from underneath.
It wasn't too bad and I made it to the camp site.
I believe it was the np208 I put in. I did not replace the seals
and I thought it was leaking down on the exhaust.
At the camp site I topped off the 208 with oil
Next issue
near the end of the day while on top of the mountain
Donnie (DCC) calls on the CB and said my Transfer case skid plate was
hanging loose on one side. :cmon:
When I stopped and climbed under I found that my skid plate was
held on by only 1 of the 6 required bolts
Thanks to Mat and Donnie we made a quick trail repair (using long bolts and sockets as spacers) Don't laugh! It got me all the way home
The Taurus fan ran great the entire trip. It was great to turn it off before the stream crossing.
On the return trip the Jeep was smoking again.
When a passing Jeep driver pointed to front area we pulled over
with the Jeep running we found the leak. It was a tranny line at a compression fitting. After a quick repair we were back on the road.
A big thanks to Erica and the DeJA members who stopped with me.
this is why Jeep owners are the best :ghug:
This solved the smoking issue the only other issue was on the Bay Bridge
This is not a cool place to be with bump steer
Thanks for all the help
