yeah they're expensive as hell i've talked to them about it before, idk if they will do a 6bt swap though? ..and Pat he's running 46's! :oI would rather do the conversion myself, and might this summer if I don't do the 5.3 or 6.0 swap. The 4bt's are hard to find, but I know a guy who is selling one right now (just can't afford the 2 grand he wants for it at the moment :'()
stop blowing smoke up your ass jang, your not gonna do a 4bt or 5.3 or 6.0

so how you gonna drive two jeeps?cause his brother andy bought eds jeep
-
oh, and the proportioning valve - did you modify it or swap it for a ZJ valve, or did it work ok without you having to mess with it?ok i have been trying to figure this out i have and 8.8 in the yj and i heard about the zj prop. valve is this a confirmed it will give you better brakeing with discs?

sounds like you installed the 4wd ring backwards....the large thing that slides to connect the two outputs on the mainshafti was just about to say that, i did that on a side job i was doing and got it all together then had to tear it back apart and fix it
-
did it with my 87 its not to bad i got an ax-15 out of a 91 so the same master cylinder and slave and i just made my tcase vbracket work with some cutting and welding

i know ive read some stuff that says lock rights arent good with bigger tires mainly over 33s? anyone have one with anything bigger or in the rear? i picked one up for super cheap for my 8.8 and second guessing it nowbuddy wran lock rights in his chevy on 42's amd 44's for 3 yrs and never had any problems and it was street driven on 42's but he took it off the raod once he hit 44's

keep us updated, I'm very interested and have been wanted to do this to my 4.0 for a long time. I've seen tons of write-ups out there on pirate and jeep forum about mounting the eaton m90. If I don't go for the v8 this summer I figure I will just do a budget 4.5 or 4.6 stroker and supercharger. Good Luckmy 383 chevy all motor will still eat it up if you do jang

ahahaha sweet!
hah thats at my work last night

I got the 9" already set up for SOA and cut down to stock width, also came loaded with 4.10's, mini spool, 31 spline moser shafts all for $250! Idk why there's a track bar mount lol I just left it on there I'm not going to use it. And yeah no more c-clips in the rear!jang its got a full spool

i am actually in the middle of rebuilding my 350 to swap in my jeep so i would say sbc350 4.3 or 4.0 stroker
-
couldnt count on 2 hands howmany fullsize 4x4s i had to pull out
-
dont tell me you bought chris's blue yj
-
I believe that he was referring to the physical size of the engine, not the displacement. They are not necessarily directly proportional for a variety of reasons...
ahhh i see what you meant my bad read it wrong
-
yea you could do it if you where to put it back into the same axel with the shims exactly the same i can ask my teacher if you could swap the houseing as long as there the same if so i could help you do cause i just learned how to do gears in axels so i'll get back to you
-
there are alot of write-ups on this online. also the 5.7 is a bigger engine size wise than the 5.9 i might be wrong but i think it is.5.9=360,5.7=347

I know someone who is trying to sell their 90' grand waggy to me for $800..it has D44's front and rear, the AMC 360 recently rebuilt, tf727 auto trans., and 35" pro comp muds with 90% tread left on them. Does anyone think it's worth buying and trying to swap all that into a YJ? Some things I would change would be to go with the T176 4-speed and D300 combo. Other than that, yes I would obviously need to put on new spring perches and shock mounts, and maybe even cut the knuckles off to adjust pinion angles and caster. And as far as the engine goes-motor mounts and some of the exhaust could come off of the donor and it's carbed so the swap would be relatively easy. I'm just trying to gather thoughts and opinions for now so just post up if you have any inputjackass you wouldnt have to cut the knuckles off you just roll the axels

if it were me i would go either chevy 350, stroked out 4.0(would be nice to have FI), or cummins 4bt but it all depends on your budget i guess and what you want out of it. I will have one of those someday in the yj but it's never too early to start planning it outyou can have a fuel injected 350 jang but yea i would do sbc 350 sm465 4spd and a 231 i am in the process of collecting parts for my yj

most definately 12.6 will start it
