Usually try to do a ride the weekend after Thanksgiving but that's not going to work out for me this year. 11/16 is my birthday so what better way to spend it then off-road.

As was said, over all a fantastic weekend. We could not have asked for better weather. The big kids group started off the day running out to Blue trail 34 as a warm up. From there we worked our way down to 39 and over to upper and lower Anthracite. I broke my steering box off the frame on the little black section adjacent to lower Anthracite. We limped mine back to camp while the others ran Bee line and Barney Ruble. Met back up with the crew at the top of Barney Ruble and we ran all of 38 to the top of the hill. From there we ran over E9 and down Renee's Hill to 36. We hammered on Matt's jeep for a while on a knarly hill climb and eventually winched him up. The rest of the group bailed out as it was time to head back to camp and eat pizza and wings like kings.

The last DEJA club trail ride of the year is scheduled for the 16th at Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area in Coal Township, PA (near Shamokin). Go to AOAA for information on park rules, cost, waivers and other info. We'll meet at the parking lot at 8:30 and hit the trails at 9:00. Sign up now if you're going, please include the trail levels you would like to run. Also we are in need of trail guides for this run.

The Thanksgiving weekend trail ride has always been one of our biggest events of the year. We usually get a big turnout and are able to have green-blue, blue-black, and red groups. The ride will be open to all levels, members and guests (even Broncos and other non-Jeeps), so sign up now if you plan to attend and specify what level trails you prefer. We will meet in the parking lot at 8:30 a.m. and hit the trails about 9:00. For more information, safety requirements, waivers, directions, and fees, go to Rausch Creek rc4x4.org. Remember to pack your lunch as we will be out on the trails all day!
