  • FS: 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Modified

    [color=rgb(34, 34, 34)] [size=1em] Up for sale is a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Lets get some of the basics out of the way first. The jeep is a 2 owner (for those that care)Delaware vehicle. It has 165xxx miles on it and counting since I drive it still. The jeep does not need to sell but Im looking to step into a newer nicer rig that is stock. With that being said this vehicle is still a pleasure to drive, but it still is a jeep, it makes rattles and noises and is loud on the highway. [/size][/color]

    Lets get to some stat's that may or may not confuse you:
    4.0 Liter inline 6 cylinder
    NP242 Selectrac transfercase
    TJ Dana 44, Rebracketed, Ox Locker, Superior Axle Shafts, 4.88 gear set
    Tj Dana LP 30, Detroit Truetrac Gear driven limited slip 4.88 gear set
    Rubicon Express Front long arms (lets be honest could use a rebuild of the joints)
    Iron Rock Offroad Long Arm Cross Member
    Iron Rock Offroad rear adjustable short arms
    Iron Rock Offroad front and rear adjustable track bars
    33x12.50x15 Goodyear M/TR's with about 5k miles
    Jks Quick Disconnects
    V5 Reese Hitch, Primus IQ brake controller (Lets be honest again ive towed 7k Lbs with this thing)
    4.5 inch Rough Country Springs with doubled isolators up front because of the batterys and winch
    The rear spring need replaced cause they sag about half inch (again cause of the trailers ive pulled)
    I Custom made front winch bracket, Made with sandwiched unibody mounts (Incase you don't know what that means, optimus prime couldn't rip this shit out.)
    8k SmittyBuilt Winch about 2 years old, it was a warrantied from my original one that lasted a year. 12k Synthetic rope (ive used and abused this thing and again optimus prime cant rip this shit off the jeep)
    Dual battery's One being a Interstate stock size, and the second sandwiched in being a 51 series. It has a painless solenoid, with a control switch in the cab.
    A wireless winch remote works to be about 50 feet if I click my heels and wish upon a star.
    Incab winch control in center console, and the winch solenoid mounted under hood for that sleek and sexy look. . .
    It has a 136 amp alternator, Just replaced because the stock couldn't keep up.
    High idle switch for fast warm up, and to keep the jeep rev'd when winching.
    It has some slim lights on the roof mounted under the factory cross rails. With some round ones mounted in the bumper. Factory ones are also there but not wired up. If I remember correctly you might get lucky and have 100w bulbs in the factory fogs, again I cant remember from all the heel clicking and star wishing.
    It has a double din power acoustic 7 inch touch screen with ipod control, plays dvds (yes, I know, porn has been watched on it)
    It has 2 10" mix matched subs with a mtx amp. I cant remember the door speakers brand but they have been replaced. Not sure on wattage or what not, sounds good but this isn't the make or break on the sale. If it is you should go look at a mall crawler.

    Okay here is the bad:
    Paint is peeling on just about every panel, some has small chips, some look like it came back into orbit and ripped the paint off. But the paint that is there is good and shines. Has some rust about to show on the drivers quarter. Due to dirt falling in the gas door and laying in the quarter.And the rockers behind the front tires. But no dents really to speak of.
    The right rear spring is really sagged and has a 2 inch spacer on it.
    The jeep will need a catalytic converter cause currently im in the fuck the EPA stage (old one was orginal and took off about a month ago due to clogged)
    Has some chips in windshield but hasn't gotten any worse in 3 years. an a huge crack across the windshield. For right selling price i'll get a new one in for you.
    It needs to be inspected in june 2015. This will require a few things to pass. I went thru last year with no cat, i cleared code and drove about 70 miles and it went thru. And by all means this is not an inclusive list. You should not buy this jeep if you expect it to be trouble free, If you do, I also have a bridge for sale at a really good deal.
    Needs either stock tires or these garden flares I made put on. The rear led turn bulbs replaced so it doesn't hyper flash
    It will need the cat.
    If you get lucky this may or may not be done depending on whether I wanna keep this thing, or not.

    Just incase you were still reading this jeep is lifted locked and long armed. It will go anywhere you point it off road. It is set up correctly and is stout for what it is. The jeep also has been offroaded heavily. I have yeehawed it, Mudded it, did some field romping, tug of wars, it been on the beach, ive buried the speedometer many times, almost rolled it, played in rocks, made my own paths thru brush, took out saplings, mallcrawled all the parking lots in Delaware, its been rig stacked, its been powered washed millions of times, ive had sex in it many times, ive towed a 5k boat with it during summers, pulled trailers with cars on em. I trust this thing to take me anywhere I wanna go. It will make a good rig for someone that wants to take skip the build and save lots of money.

    I have some receipts, mostly the warrantied stuff.
    But this jeep will be sold as is where is, no warranty. I can put it on lift to check out, but this will not leave my sight, your mechanic/shadetree/tv repairman/friend can come check it out, I can do whatever you want to make you sleep at night.   • ZJ Just Quits

    If it starts back up, it can be a pcm. I had random stalls. Everyone i heard say throw this or that part. I ended up tapping pcm with wrench and it shut off. Found the problem. The true reason it goes bad is the screws holding cover on rub the board then short it out. If that is the case you are on borrowed time.
