Hmm... a Jeep and Geocache event? :)

Hells yea... that would be an awesome event idea.. Wonder if we can talk the folks that run the canal into allowing us to do an even there, not so much to tear up the place or anything.. but to just hang out and hit up all the s**t ton of caches on both sides of the canal.. or hit up the other places that have quite a few caches... can't wait till my little one (10 month old) gets older and can go out and enjoy caching (not to mention showing me up at finding them)..

That is some rough carnage John... I would say for sure get some "frame" stiffners to put in up front.. but as far as the sending brace option you showed... take a look at IronMan4x4Fab, Andy builds some pure beef stuff.. and I've been waiting for him to come out with this brace for my XJ... but am waiting a little bit longer for him to finish up with the version for the Durango box upgrade...

As far as what I've done with my Jeep lately, I've just been trying to enjoy it as much as I possibly can. Got my new gears 4.56's w/ master install kits, Solid diff covers, lub locker gaskets sitting in the garage waiting until I can get them to someone for install, then I'll be able to enjoy her even more. Drove her to the gym the other night and right after I got around the corner from my house she stalled out randomly... so I put it in neutral and started right back up but was running a little bit rough and had a CEL (no surprise there)... continued on to the gym, and noticed once I let off the gas to slow down it would stall out, or come really close to it if I didn't catch it first... in my head I was figuring it was probably a TPS, so once I got the gym I hooked up my OBDII reader (yeah that's right I own a Jeep, so have to keep my reader on hand) and had three codes, 1 for O2 sensor (no surprise), 1 for a transmission sensor, and 1 for the TPS. So once I got done with my workout I limped it over to my garage (storage unit) and swapped in a TPS I had on my "spare" engine, and cleared the codes... and had no more issues after that...

    Welcome back John!!

Doing fine. No longer wearing camo but still keeping myself busy. What about you - still slumming around a jet shop? :)

Can't be slumming around the jet shop on base.. as it no longer exists.. now we only have the jet troops that work the line, they no longer have a back shop.. The only specialists that doesn't..

I've been Geocaching off and on for quite a few years, since I was introduced to it while deployed. Have had a good time with it over the years.. but have been a bit slack with it over the last year or so... There are a few caches that I've been really wanting to do, if I can find them again, that are a bit harder, mainly for the hike to get to GZ in the first place... Could be fun to get some Jeepers together, maybe even some new ones, that might have had some interest in trying GC out..

With a Hemi or the originally planned diesel would be awesome.. I would rather see them produce it with the original planned setup, but hey... they'll produce whatever they'd decide not what makes sense, or what the people really want to see.... Then again I'd take the original 715 or even one of these in a heartbeat either way!!!

Welcome to DEJA!! The Autobahn was pretty fun drive, not sure if I would have ever wanted to have driven my XJ down the bahn though... Look forward to seeing pics of your Jeep(s) once you figure out the site..

You can have someone weld the hing more to the pillar, or you can install longer bolts, and get some small pieces of steel to put on the inside of the pillar to run the bolts through.... and would figure out a way to get the little door stop part worked out
