I was going to mention looking into the Rusty's offroad option.. I have this same setup for my XJ and love it, and I know of two folks that used to be stationed here at Dover that had it on their TJ's and they liked it..

Oh geez, there goes the neighborhood!! Hurry up and get the XJ already.. LOL.. Welcome to DEJA, Jeff... Awesome folks here..

What's the mileage? When you said you put a lot of money in to "getting it up and running nicely" is that because it was in bad shape when you bought it?
I would imagine it was due to all the work to get it to the look/ability that it is at now... more than any issues!!
Last, did a mechanic give you a price to fix the issues you listed with the engine light and the trans slip? I personally don't know enough to know what that would cost?
The O2 sensor you are looking at roughly $75 or less for a new one, and about 15 mins to change it out.. The trans I was quoted at less than $350 to have the whole tranny rebuilt by two separate trans shops.. And I know there are a few writeups on rebuilding it yourself, if you chose to take that job on, which isn't really all that hard!!

Welcome to DEJA!!

You should be fine with the stock pitman arm and the TC drop.. I'm with Jerry.. I've been running close to 7" of lift with the stock pitman arm, and a 1" TC drop.. with no issues thus far... And I DD my XJ from the Northern side of Middletown down to Dover almost every day on 33's... so you should be fine with the setup you got going there...

You should be fine.. My XJ went through with 1.5-2" of tire sticking outside every corner.. Didn't think it would make it through.. but they passed it with no issues.. and that was down at the overly anal Dover DMV inspection line!!

Welcome to DEJA and the addiction that is JEEP!!

I want either the Lower Forty or the Keizer 715 concept.. man I hope that thing actually gets produced!!

That is a very clean looking rig!! Can't wait to see it completed!!

Welcome to DEJA!!

Washed all the mud off of it, and hand washed it afterwards (looks strange being all shiny and clean).... then detailed and cleaned up the interior... and installed a small 10" MTX powered sub, to give a bit of depth to my music when I'm driving... Now... considering going out and covering it in mud again... looks way better that way!! LOL...

Nice looking 97 you got there!!

At least it appears that it isn't a perm. shut down.. I am guessing they were just having some management issues...

oh yeah... I forgot about the D30 carrier... sorry about that.. I know in the rear you don't have to remove it though... and it is a very easy install to do.....
-
You don't have to take the carrier out to install an Aussie Locker... Here is a writeup... it is for a Ford 8.8... but there are plenty of them around for our axles... http://www.rockmodified.com/Tech/aussie/aussie1.htm here is one for the D30 http://www.4x4xplor.com/aussielocker.html you can easily install the Aussie Locker is both front and rear axle with simple hand tools...
But if you don't trust yourself or would just rather have someone else do it, where are you located?? That might help someone naming shops for you..
